• The Sun Sets on the Bentonite Hills

The Bentonite Hills in Utah are a magical place. We drove off road to get there, drove past the Mars Research Station and spent a lot of time walking up and down these soft mounds of “earth”. It felt like another planet. The sun going down and emphasizing all those little hills with the shadows it cast just made it feel even more foreign.

  • Chile Ristras over the Adobe

Chile Ristras are said to bring good health and good luck. When viewing them set against the adobe building backdrop, you don’t get much more Santa Fe than that. All that’s missing is some turquoise!

  • Flowers in the Headlights

Sometimes all it takes is noticing the things no one else takes the time to. These flowers were growing out of a crack in the sidewalk. With a perfectly timed headlight driving up the road behind them, they had this magical lighting I couldn’t pass up.

  • The Road to Zion

Zion was a trip. Literally. We had tickets to Angel’s Landing and it was raining on and off again. Sometimes nothing, sometimes a terrifying thunderstorm. Needless to say we didn’t make it out to Angel’s Landing that day, but we still made it up Walter’s Wiggles and got some great shots just inside the park.

  • Moody Tybee Sunrise

A moody 9mm shot in the foam of the tide at Tybee Island in Georgia during a winter sunrise. This photo placed in the top 10 in a Landscapes photo contest by Photo Crowd. The experts ranked it 2nd in the competition!

  • Stars over Santa Fe

This lonely tree felt like the perfect subject to silhouette in my astrophotography in Santa Fe. Having a subject in the foreground adds depth and grounds the stars to our plane of existence.

  • Milky Way meets Utah

When you’re the only RV in the park and it’s a breathtaking night, you HAVE to get the 9mm lens out and shoot the sky! Photo taken in Hatch, Utah.
